Trail Song Verse 10: Oma
I met Oma between Unicoi Gap and Dick's Creek Gap. She had twisted her ankle two weeks prior. After recuperating at a friend's house, it was her first day back on the trail. I sang this verse for her before parting ways at Deep Gap shelter.
well this here's the story 'bout a hiker named Oma
twisted up her ankle but she did not go a-home-a
went down in that holler and what did she see?
just a macaroni bowtie from the pasta berry tree
pasta berries pasta berries boil 'em in a bag
add a little cheese and it's the best you've ever had
if i should not make it to the summit up in Maine
you will find me slurping noodles by the pasta berry tree
