Getting There 1

I've left my home for the foreseeable future. The plan is to drive dad back down to Florida today, catch a plane to Atlanta on Thursday, then a shuttle to Amicalola Falls where I'll spend a night at the lodge then pick up my hangtag and start walking Friday morning.

I wasn't expecting to airline check my backpack at the beginning of my trip, so at the last minute I'm figuring out what to do. Followed the prevailing wisdom and stuffed the entire thing in a big duffel bag, minus the stove fuel (which I'll need to replace in Georgia) and my battery pack (which I'll carry with me).

My adventure has begun, there's just not as much walking as I'd expected.. yet.
