Can't Keep a Good Bones Down
I've touched down in Branchville, mile 1325.6. One night at the Cobmin Ridge Motel, then we hike out to the highest point in New Jersey. Hospitality awaits; I have generous contacts in Tappan, Harlem and Connecticut who have offered us rides, beds, floors, and backyards.
For me, this is mile 773.4. I will have a total of 552.2 miles to finish across two segments after Katahdin.
Being home was easier this time. After being immersed in the magic of the trail, there's an expectation of disappointment when returning to the Rest of the World. Instead, I felt like I've learned to recognize and seek out the magic where I live. Maybe I even brought some of it with me?
