Siler Bald

From Franklin, NC we set out on a six day leg to Fontana Dam, the doorstep of the Smokies. Weather was overall good for photos, so I will share some here.

Conditions were good for a quick sunset trip from the Siler Gap shelter up to Siler Bald for photos. This was a rare 360 view from one of the higher summits.

Tomorrow will be a rest day at the Fontana Dam shelter, affectionately known as the Fontana Hilton for its hot showers and device charging ports. We take a shuttle into the village tomorrow morning.
